In 1953, Christian Flensted crafted a stork mobile from two straws and three paper storks to celebrate his daughter Mette's christening. Initially conceived as a playful and personal gift, the stork mobile unexpectedly marked the beginning of Flensted Mobiles. Just a year later, the Flensted Mobiles company was established. Today, the stork mobile, the company's first creation, continues to be in production. The business began in the Flensted family's three-room flat in Aalborg, where the dining table served as the workplace and storage space was found under the sofa.
