In the 1970s, the adoption of a leather upper by the vulcanized manufacturing method in the technology at that time had poor adhesion to rubber and had difficulty in durability. The design and durability were found again in the former technique of wrapping and adhering cotton herringbone tape in a belt shape, which was conceived as a countermeasure.
